Meet James: Our Modstox racer

The lowdown on Nutter’s sponsor James Faultless

Since he started racing at 13 years old, James has quickly progressed from sharing a Stoxkart with his brother Craig Faultless. To senior Stoxkart’s in his own kart in 2016, where he was able to get up to the coveted red roof grade.

It wasn’t long before the 2017 season arrived and James had upgraded formulas again, this time to Modstox. Unfortunately, whilst getting to grips with the new car James had quite a bad accident. Resulting in a broken shoulder bone and leading him to pull out of races for over a year.

“Recovery was a long process. When I eventually started to improve, I worked to rebuild the car. There was quite a lot of damage so it took a lot of time to get it right, but I managed to get back on track for the last couple of meetings of 2018.” says James.

After a tough couple of seasons, James was back to his best in 2019. Where he won numerous races and awards throughout the year; Under 25s Champion, Most Improved Racer, and Runner-up Driver of the Year.

Despite Covid, James was still able to win one race and claim runner-up in the Neil Clayton Memorial Championship in 2020. Sadly, as we all know, it wasn’t long before we went back into lockdown. So James decided to take this time to rebuild the car and get ready in preparation for next season.

In 2021, the racers had a late start to the season due to the ongoing Covid restrictions. Despite the short season, James was able to take 4 race wins; Under 25’s champion runner-up, North Midlands Championship runner-up, and a 2nd place Final. An amazing achievement!

Good Luck James, from all of us here at Nutter’s!
